DoJ trial date debated
19.06.12 | Bookseller Staff
Plaintiffs in the Department of Justice case against Apple, Macmillan and Penguin differ on when they want to be "trial ready", according to a report in Publishers Weekly. Apple favours 26th March 2013, while the publishers propose 30th September 2013.
However, the publishers’ date depends on when summary judgement is handed down, with the next filings to take place 10 weeks after this date. Apple proposes 26th February 2013 and the publishers favour 30th August 2013.
Publishers do not want the next stage to occur until mid-December 2013, which means the case might not come to trial until 2014.
