Dizzee memoirs "on hold"
01.01.70 | Katie Allen
Rapper Dizzee Rascal has said his memoirs are "on hold at the moment", having originally been scheduled for an autumn 2010 release.
The Sun reports Rascal saying: "It's on hold at the moment . . . I won't go back to it until I've got enough stuff to write. I'm just focusing on my next album now, which I'm about a quarter of the way through."
East London rapper Rascal, whose real name is Dylan Mills, signed the deal with Canongate in early 2010, with the memoirs originally planned for release in October 2010 and in paperback in summer 2011. Rascal was slated to co-write the book with music journalist and author Ben Thompson, with the memoirs to give an insight into his life, from his troubled upbringing, including a near-fatal multiple stabbing, to his Mercury Music Prize win in 2003.
Canongate was not available this morning to comment.
