Delaney debut destined for TV

Debut crime novel Cold Killing, published by HarperCollins, has been optioned through Simon Trewin at WME to production company Carnival Film and Television, the makers of "Downton Abbey", as the basis of a multi-part TV drama.

Written by ex-Met detective Luke Delaney, he book is the first in a trilogy featuring central character DI Sean Corrigan. He suffered terrible abuse in childhood but is able to enjoy family life with his wife and two daughters, while pursuing an impressive career with South London's Murder Investigation Unit.

Head of development at Carnival Film and Television, Phil Temple, said the company is aiming to turn it into "the next big, iconic television crime franchise".
