Ebury’s Del Rey imprint has acquired trilogy The Osiris Project by debut author E J Swift.
Editorial director Michael Rowley bought UK and Commonwealth (excluding Canada) and European English language rights, including digital and audio, in the titles from John Berlyne at the Zeno Agency.
Rowley said: "I’m thrilled to be publishing such a fantastic new British talent. Swift’s writing is highly addictive, I was blown away by her characterisation, world building and the sheer captivating quality of the book." He described the trilogy as: "a wonderful and exciting literary SF series with a strong commercial appeal and dystopian setting".
Osiris will be published as a £12.99 royal tpb in February 2013, followed by Book Two in August 2013 and a third title in the trilogy coming in August 2014.
The series is set more than 500 years in our future, some 50 years after severe climate change and devastating storms has isolated the city of Osiris. Adelaide Rechnov lives in the privileged City area, and must unite forces with Vikram Bai, an activist from the impoverished western quarter, to find her missing twin Axel and to survive as another winter threatens the citizens.
