Conville & Walsh agent Jo Unwin is moving to Transworld, where she will be deputy publishing director for Doubleday.
The move comes hard on the heels of news that C&W has sold a 50% stake in its business to Curtis Brown. However Unwin said it was "in no way connected" with the development.
Unwin said: "I'm very sad to move on from my clients, but I know how good they all are, so they'll be fine without me. And how could I turn down the opportunity to work at Transworld on the Doubleday list, on exceptional books that absolutely everyone wants to read?"
Her clients at Conville & Walsh, where she was an agent for five years, included Man Booker-shortlisted Stephen Kelman and Rebecca James, author of Beautiful Malice. Unwin said Conville & Walsh has offered representation to all of her clients.
Transworld publisher Bill Scott-Kerr said: "I am thrilled that Jo will be joining Transworld. In a relatively short time as an agent, Jo has established herself as a great judge of good writing and storytelling. She will be joining the successful and established team of Marianne Velmans and Jane Lawson who have done such a brilliant job creating a list of wonderful authors and books."
Unwin will report into publishing director Marianne Velmans. She starts at Transworld on 8th April.
