Curious Fox signs first fiction titles
04.05.12 | Caroline Horn
Raintree has acquired the first titles for its fledgling fiction list, Curious Fox, from Fiction Express, a multimedia publisher that invites readers to help shape its stories by voting for what happens in each chapter.
The titles, which are aimed at YA readers, include Soterion Mission by Stewart Ross, Soul Shadows by Alex Woolf and Diary of a Mall Girl by Luisa Plaja. The titles will be published in the UK in 2013 while the fourth title, Remy Brunel and the Ocean of Light by Sharon Gosling, will also be published in the US by Capstone.
Raintree m.d. Miles Stevens-Hoare said: “Each of these books has seen the light of day but they have had a very small readership. We have acquired them because we think they are all good stories, and the reader participation has made them quite special.”
While the publisher aims to acquire international rights to its fiction, Stevens-Hoare said: “We think most of these are very specifically British books.” Further series are currently under discussion, he added.
