C&R partners with du Beke for ballroom title
25.05.12 | Charlotte Williams
Constable & Robinson has acquired an armchair companion to ballroom dancing, B is for Ballroom, by BBC1's "Strictly Come Dancing" star, Anton du Beke.
Constable publishing director Andreas Campomar bought UK and Commonwealth rights in the title through Gordon Wise at Curtis Brown at auction, with plans to publish in October this year.
The book will cover all aspects of ballroom dancing, from pivot turns to illegal lifts, and injuries, costumes and choreography. It is designed to appeal to dance enthusiasts, rather than just fans of "Strictly Come Dancing".
Campomar said: "I'm delighted that Anton will grace our list. His book will demystify and celebrate the sparkling world of ballroom dancing which has captured the nation's hearts in 'Strictly'. Not only is Anton a witty raconteur, but a hugely experienced and skilled dancer who can't wait to share his dance knowledge with a wider audience."
