Coronet has acquired the TV tie-in book to comedy series "Bad Education".
Editorial director Charlotte Hardman bought British Commonwealth rights including Canada and exclusive Europe in a pre-empt deal with Luigi Bonomi of LBA on behalf of Shane Murphy at Tiger Aspect Productions.
The first series of the show, which is co-written by and stars Jack Whitehall, was shown on BBC3 in 2012, and a second series, to which the book is linked, will transmit later this year.
Hardman said: "I was instantly hooked on 'Bad Education' as soon as I watched the first episode and could see there was huge potential for a very entertaining and laugh-out-loud book.
"I'm looking forward to working with the writing team and Tiger Aspect Productions to bring the larger than life staff and pupils of Abbey Grove School to the page in what I hope will become a big bestseller this Christmas."
Coronet will publish an illustrated hardback and an enhanced e-book in September 2013.
