Cornerstone releases Slaughter digital first

The Random House Group has today released its first direct to digital fiction title, a short work by Karin Slaughter which will also feature the opening chapter of the thriller writer's next new book.

The Unremarkable Heart is available for £0.49, with the opening chapter of full-length thriller Fallen, to be published in hardback in July, also included. The publisher described it as "a gripping story that will chill you to the bone".

Cornerstone m.d. Susan Sandon said: "This direct to digital e-book exclusive rewards Karin's fans with a new short story while they await her next thriller. At the same time we hope The Unremarkable Heart along with a taster of Karin's next book will entice a new legion of fans to sample her work."

Slaughter is the author of books including Blindsighted and Broken.

It is available for the ipad and on i-tunes. Also in UK it's available at other retailers like picabook and mobile read, so it's not solely with Amazon and for the Kindle. I however did purchase it from Amazon for my Kindle.

Is it correct that this book is only available as a Kindle edition? There doesn't seem to be any trace of it on other ebook vendors apart from Amazon. If this is so perhaps it should have been reported as a retailer specific product.
