Coates writes Good Library Manual

Library campaigner Tim Coates is publishing a how-to manual for running a good library.

The Good Library Manual, offering advice on creating "a supremely successful, relevant, and modern 21st-century library" comes out from Berkshire Publishing this week, priced £14.95.

Both author/campaigner Alan Gibbons and Bloomsbury executive director Richard Charkin are offering supportive quotes, with Gibbons saying “Tim demands to be read” while Charkin opines: “Tim Coates knows more about libraries and how to make them better than any number of management consultants or quangoes.”

Coates said he believes there are "straightforward solutions to the problems faced by libraries, solutions which can be used anyplace, in any country, by anyone who wants to make their library a popular and valued place.”
