28.07.11 | Charlotte Williams
Little, Brown and Abacus has appointed Clare Smith, currently HarperPress publishing director, to the role of publishing director fiction, Little, Brown and Abacus.
Smith will begin on 19th September, reporting to Richard Beswick, m.d. of Little, Brown and Abacus.
Smith said: "I've loved building a fiction list at HarperPress and have been incredibly lucky to have published such talented and brilliant authors there. However, the opportunity to join Richard and the team at Little, Brown was irresistible—their reputation for creative and exciting publishing is second to none."
Beswick said: "I am really delighted Clare is to join Little, Brown/Abacus. She has an excellent record in discovering and nurturing new talent and will be a great addition to the team."
