Clangers get crafty with Collins & Brown
28.10.11 | Charlotte Williams
Anova imprint Collins & Brown will be heading off to the Small Blue Planet to create a “Clangers” craft project book, based on the classic children's television series.
Publisher Katie Cowan acquired world rights in the book directly from the creator of “Clangers”, Peter Firmin and Smallfilms, and will be working with them to develop the title. It will include guides on how to knit the characters and recreate the sets on a kitchen table. Clangers will be published in August 2012, priced £9.99.
Cowan said: “Many parents today are encouraging their children to watch the original series. As well as knitting the Clangers, this book will mark a return to making projects from things that you might have already at home.”
The programme was first shown in 1969 and ran for two series.
