Charlotte Ledger, current commissioning editor at HarperImpulse, has been promoted to editorial director of the imprint.
Ledger joined HarperCollins in 2013 from Mills & Boon, and has acquired a list of talented authors, according to the publisher, who praised her "keen eye for discovering the best talent". One of her writers Carmel Harrington has just spent five weeks on the Irish Times bestseller list and was nominated as Newcomer of the Year at the Irish Book Awards. Another, Debbie Johnson, has sold over half a million copies, the publisher said.
Kim Young, publisher, commercial women’s fiction, said: "Charlotte combines a brilliant commercial instinct with caring author management which is why HarperImpulse is a leading digital first imprint."
Ledger added that she was "so proud" of the achievements of the Impulse list and its authors. "It’s been an amazing journey, and the best part is seeing so many talented new authors become the rising stars of commercial fiction. I love being able to commission for the main HarperFiction list but also constantly innovate with digital first. I’m excited for the future of HarperImpulse and for my growing list of authors", she said.
