Angry Robot editor Lee Harris and steampunk author Scott Harrison have set up a non-profit e-book publishing company. H&H Books plans to publish works and contribute funds to charitable causes.
Voices from the Past will be the first title from the publisher, an anthology of flash fiction with over 20 authors already attached, including Alastair Reynolds, Paul Magrs and Jasper Fforde.
Harrison and Harris will jointly edit the title, which will then be sold for 59p/$0.99, with all proceeds going to Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital.
Scott Harrison said: "Flash fiction is ideally suited to the electronic format, and with over 20 stories for less than the cost of a can of cola, it's also a fantastic way to donate to an extremely worthy cause."
Voices from the Past will be published in April 2011, coinciding with the Illustrious sci-fi convention in the UK.
All books will be available via Kindle, iBooks, Sony Bookstore as well as other e-book outlets.
