Cast members link up for Hitchcon '09

Simon Jones and Mark Wing Davey are being joined by Andrew Sachs and Harry Shearer of "The Simpon's" fame  as cast members for a one-off radio-style performance of "Hitchhiker's Live!" at Hitchcon '09.

The actors will respectively play Arthur Dent, Zaphod Beeblebrox, The Book and Slartibartfast. The performance, produced and directed by Dirk Maggs, will bring together all the surviving original cast members of the first radio adaptation THHG, plus some of the TV adaptation actors.

Hitchcon '09, to be held on Sunday 11th October at the Southbank Centre, will celebrate the 30th anniversary of Douglas Adams' The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy as well as marking publication of Eoin Colfer's follow-up And Another Thing (Penguin).

Other elements of the celebratory day will include a "record-breaking Arthur Dent photocall", to which attendees are invited to come wearing dressing gown and towel, and readings from Colfer's new book.
