Cannon Street store for LS Travel Retail
01.05.12 | Benedicte Page
LS Travel Retail UK & Ireland has opened a new UK shop at London's Cannon Street Station, selling books as well as magazines, newspapers, stationery and snacks. The new 70 square metre store is branded as a RELAY store, which the retailer said was inspired by the RELAY Asia-Pacific store format but adapted for the UK market.
It follows the opening of the first Watermark Books store at the King's Cross railway station development site in March. LS Travel Retail has also opened a La Maison du Chocolat at London's Heathrow Terminal 5.
Fin Casey, m.d. of LS Travel Retail UK & Ireland, said that the new shop was "a key milestone" in the evolution of the company's business. "This opening supports our strategy to expand our presence in the UK," Casey said.
The company has said it has identified between 15 and 20 viable locations for shops in UK airports, and a further 10–15 in railway stations.
