Budge and Johnson take on 'group' title
20.02.12 | Benedicte Page
HarperCollins publisher Belinda Budge and m.d. Simon Johnson have had their titles changed to "group publisher" and "group m.d." respectively.
HC UK c.e.o. and publisher Victoria Barnsley said: "With such enormous change in our industry it's important that we reposition ourselves as a business. While individual divisions are responsible for developing their own particular strategies, they need to be doing this in the context of HarperCollins' overall strategy.
"The centre needs to be providing divisions with a lot of direction, support and leadership at this crucial time and, to that end, in the trade business I'm working very closely with Belinda Budge and Simon Johnson to fulfil this function. Their creative and commercial leadership will ensure that HarperCollins as a whole is driving change rather than merely responding to it."
The change of title for both will reflect "the breadth of their remit", Barnsley said.
