Brown launches Art / Books

A publisher with 20 years' experience in the art publishing and visual arts world has set up his own "small but ambitious" publishing house.
Andrew Brown, who previously worked at Marshall Cavendish and Thames & Hudson, has set up Art / Books, with five titles lined up for 2012.
The first, Pushwagner (hb, £35), a monograph on cult Norwegian artist Hariton Pushwagner, was released this week. The Unexpected Guest: Art, Writing and Thinking on Hospitality will follow in September (£18.95, pb). The Roundel, a collection of 100 artists' reinterpretations of the London Underground logo, will publish in October (£12.95, pb), marking the 150th anniversary of the London Underground, while a title on photographer Terence Donovan follows in November (hb, clothbound, £60).
Brown said he was "trying to develop a list that will reach far beyond the traditional art market", aiming to produce 20 books a year in five years' time. E-book samplers of his titles will be produced for the iBookstore.
