Brigid Nelson moves from Penguin to HCCB
01.01.70 | Charlotte Williams
HarperCollins Children's Books has made Brigid Nelson its divisional sales director, with Nelson leaving Penguin after ten years.
Nelson will report into HarperCollins group sales director Oliver Wright, and will take up her post in the New Year. She most recently was children's product director at Penguin Children's Books, with responsibility of the Puffin, Ladybird, Sunbird, BBC Children's and Frederick Warne imprints.
Wright said: "We are absolutely delighted to have Brigid joining our team. We couldn't have wished for a better candidate to fill this role. She will bring a wealth of experience to our list as well as her passion to work with our fantastic authors and build on the success of our number one bestsellers this autumn."
Nelson added: "I've had such a fantastic 10 years at Penguin with the books and the people but now seems a perfect time to bow out and move on. I always loved the HarperCollins Children's list when I was a bookseller . . . The children's market is such an opportunity for all of us and I'm very much looking forward to the ten years ahead."
