The stars of last week’s Letters Live event, including Russell Brand, Stephen Fry and Caitlin Moran, have signed copies of two books to be auctioned online this week in aid of literacy charity The Reading Agency.
Signed copies of Shaun Usher’s Letters of Note and Simon Garfield’s To the Letter, the books which inspired Canongate’s Letters Live series, will be auctioned on www.letterslive.co.uk.
The site will open for bidding at 3pm on Thursday 1st May and close at 12pm on Thursday 8th May. All proceeds will go to The Reading Agency.
The first Letters Live event took place at the Tabernacle in December 2013, raising over £11,000 for The Reading Agency. The second night took place on World Book Night 2014, April 23rd, at London’s Southbank Centre. As well as Brand, Fry and Moran, performers included author David Nicholls, poet Andrew Motion, author Andrew O’ Hagan and pianist James Rhodes. Along with actors Lisa Dwan, Matt Berry, Morgana Robinson and Louise Brealey, they will sign the books for auction.
The person offering the highest bid will receive both books following payment.
