Bradley buys historical debut for Harper

Kate Bradley, commissioning editor at HarperFiction, has acquired world rights for three novels from debut author Joanna Hickson from Jenny Brown and Jenny Brown Associates.

The first book, The Agincourt Bride, will tell the story of Catherine De Valois, the bride of two English Kings and her story is told through the eyes of her nursemaid, Mette.
Bradley said: "In Joanna we have found an author who represents everything that is great about really commercial novels in this genre. The trio of books we have acquired will look at the early Tudor dynasty – a period rich with intrigue and drama. Joanna wears her considerable learning lightly and displays a sureness of touch that belies her debut status. I’m confident that Joanna will take her place in the firmament alongside such household names as Phillipa Gregory and Conn Iggulden."
