Bounce Sales & Marketing is expanding its sales team to offer special services to larger publishers and companies handling their own key accounts. The new service, called Bounce Extra, will be a national sales team covering independents, museums, toyshops and other non-traditional accounts.
Last week, Scholastic announced that it had appointed Bounce to represent all Scholastic and Chicken House books to independent and specialist accounts. Bounce expects to announce further contracts with new publishing clients in the next few weeks, said m.d. Robert Snuggs.
Snuggs said the company's expansion of its sales team was as a result of demand from both small and large publishing houses. "If we have demand for our services, and we do, then we want to extend what we can offer," he said. "We believe that there is significant potential for growth in both traditional and non-traditional markets, and we have to maintain the ability to sell all of our publishing clients' lists in depth."
The Bounce sales team is now 12-strong, including three new staff, who are backed-up by a separate head office marketing and sales support team. The Bounce team will continue to offer head office accounts and full representation into the trade for its publisher clients, while the Bounce Extra team will offer publishers representation in a specific part of the market, especially independents and non-traditional outlets.
Bounce is also to relaunch its website to give greater support to booksellers, and has recently appointed Catherine Stokes as sales and marketing director to extend its marketing support to its clients.
