Pan Macmillan imprint Bluebird is partnering with Twitter to launch its first “How to Eat Well” tour in June. The tour will see some of its best-known food writers, such as Joe Wicks and Jasmine Hemsley, come together to discuss cooking, diet and nutrition at three events in Glasgow, Brighton and London.
The tour, focused on "good food" and "the joy of cooking", will kick off in Brighton on 18th June, at the University of Brighton's Sallis Benney Theatre, moving to Twitter's HQ in the capital on 19th June, and finishing up on 22nd June at the Glasgow Trade Hall.
Wicks aka "The Body Coach", Hemsley, who launches her first solo book East by West with Bluebird in November, I Quit Sugar founder Sarah Wilson, and nutritionist and blogger Jessica Sepel will all be touring together for the UK-wide events, while debut authors Limahl Asmall, author of Tiny Budget Cooking, and Dr Rachel Abrams, author of Bodywise, will join for one date each.
Each event will be ticketed. The Brighton and Glasgow events, catering for 200 people, will charge a small fee, and the London event taking place at Twitter HQ will be free of charge, and promoted online via @TwitterBooks and @TwitterUK. Books will be on sale at all events with the authors available to sign copies.
Bluebird communications director Jodie Mullish said: "At Bluebird we have tried to create a community of authors, and this amazing group each has their own unique, fascinating take on cooking and eating great food. We’re excited to cross-pollinate our authors’ fanbases, and to listen to them in conversation about a subject close to everyone’s heart: delicious food that makes you happy."
