Blake to publish Cheryl and Ashley Cole split book

John Blake is publishing an up-to-date account of Cheryl and Ashley Cole's turbulent relationship, entitled Love Wars.

The singer and footballer have been married for three and a half years, but after widespread reports of Ashley's cheating, it was announced today the pair would be getting divorced.

Love Wars, which was commissioned in January, is due out on May 4th as a paperback, priced £7.99.

Written by journalist and author John McShane, the book will cover the relationship from marriage in 2006, through to the first public scandal in 2008, and "as up to date as we can get it before we print," Blake's head of marketing, Clare Tillyer, said.

She added: "This is the inside story of how the UK’s most loved solo artist found herself in the most roller coaster relationship of all time."

John Blake said: "It's a brilliantly poignant love story of two young people torn apart by success beyond their wildest dreams."

I guess so... if Ashley's wildest dream was to sleep with as many common as muck girls as possiable !

I look forward to this Epic and very important book

YAWN!

Jesus Christ!

They're taking the piss Jonathan!

There aren't words to describe what a massive waste of paper such pointless driveling trash is...

Er, will no-one raise a cheer for Blake's speed of thought. The company had the AI out to us within 20 minutes of the dynamic duo announcing their split. You may not want to read the book, but you've got to admire the publishing. Blake isn't trying to win the Samuel Johnson here, or even a Costa, the publisher is attempting to pick up on popular sentiment. Not a bad strategy . . .

No... No I will not. Everyone on this island could see that cAshley and Miss Cole were going to split years ago. I suspect that Blake (and Heat magazine) have been sitting on a lot of material for a while now.

Fair play to them, not like Water Rat has written a book if it's that easy... no? Blake will make a mint off this. Say what you like, it's a book people will want to buy, and in this retail climate we need more of them.

I think your close interest in this story, Water Rat, somewhat proves the point of Blake's publishing.

philip.jones@bookseller.co.uk - you are right. It's my day off and im bored scanning the net.
I am sorry... I shall return to watch the E news channel whilst flicking through my copy of Now.
(Note to Blah blah blah - I am a published author, and I helped edit the 2007 Heat Annual - sorry)

So, Water Rat edits Heat and slams John Blake for bringing out a very timely book that will appeal to exactly that market. Hypocrite much?

poor Sudds

But all of the more recent crappy biographies of celebrities by John Blake simply don't sell... and I work in a Waterstone's that's core market is angry mothers who read child abuse books to make themselves feel better.

Still... we'll be forced to stock this by head office.
What fun.
*sigh*

John Blake, and all who work for you, I salute you!
