Blackwell to close Sheffield Hallam branch
01.01.70 | Lisa Campbell
Blackwell will close its Sheffield Hallam bookshop at the end of this year after six years of trading at a loss.
The branch was opened six years ago and will be closed as part of the company’s wider plans to return the bookseller to profitability. Ten staff are affected by the closure.
A spokesman for Blackwell said: "Blackwell is currently in consultation with the team at the Sheffield Hallam bookshop and hopes to relocate staff where possible. Discussions are underway with the university about an alternative provision of book service to students at key times of the year."
