Black Dog to publish Underground series
20.09.12 | Charlotte Williams
Black Dog Publishing is kicking off a new series in association with London Underground's public art project Art on the Underground. The series will collect together books on the art commissions showcased on each of the Tube lines.
The first two titles, One Thing Leads to Another—Everything is Connected and Central Line Series, document the programme of temporary commissions on the Jubilee Line and Central Line respectively, and will be published as £12.95 hardbacks on 3rd October.
Both titles include illustrations of the artworks themselves and specially commissioned essays. Central Line Series focuses on themes of communication and exchange, and One Thing Leads to Another centres around the notions of time, economics and travel.
Editor Tamsin Dillon said the books would appeal to travel, transport and London enthusiasts, those interested in London, and people who have seen the art programmes. She added: “We wanted to add something more to the projects.”
