North London independent The Big Green Bookshop is teaming up with Angry Robot Books to offer promotions and dedicated shop space to the SFF specialist's titles.
The link-up will run from 1st January 2013 until the end of the year, with The Big Green Bookshop planning to run events around the titles in the shop, as well as dedicating a window and premium shop space to Angry Robot's titles. Its titles will be promoted on the shop's website and blog with reviews and offers. A series of competitions via social media will be run throughout the year. Events are also being planned around the release of Joseph D'Lacety's new book Black Feathers, published by Angry Robot in April.
The Big Green Bookshop co-owner Simon Key said the publisher was a good fit with the shop, with its titles "already hugely popular with our customers". He said: "We're always looking for more effective ways to introduce great books to an even wider audience and hopefully this team up will mean that more people will get to read the books that they're publishing."
He added: "This team up will also mean that the shop will be one of the top venues for London events and launches over the next 12 months, so look out for some great events in 2013."
Angry Robot fiction sales and system manager Roland Briscoe said: "We really value our local independent shops and recently I've been chatting to lots of stores and trying to come up with original joint projects that can help us help each other. The book trade is undergoing huge changes at the moment and both publishers and stores need to innovate to keep ahead and stay relevant."
