Ebury has acquired the official TV tie-in to the new 2017 BBC Two series, "The Big Family Cooking Showdown".
The "feel-good" BBC2 TV series, hosted by Zoe Ball and GBBO-winner Nadiya Hussain, and judged by chefs Giorgio Locatelli and Rosemary Shrager, celebrates home cooking as families from across Britain compete by whipping up dishes using recipes handed down through the generations.
The tie-in book, The Big Family Cooking Showdown, will feature over 120 recipes, created by 16 families from across the country.
Representing Britain’s "varied cultural food map", creations in the book will range from stews to fish and chips, and curries to pasta. Potted Brown Shrimp with Beetroot Soda Bread and Butternut Squash Soup feature among recipes for starters in the book, while there will be mains such as Red Prawn Curry and Rosemary’s Steak & Kidney Pie with Herby Dumplings, and puddings such as Bakewell Tart and Indian Rice Pudding.
Alongside the series' best recipes, the book will also include 10 exclusive recipes from Shrager and on-location images.
Lizzy Gray, publishing director for Ebury Press and BBC Books, bought world rights in the book from Steve Nam and Sanjay Singhal at Voltage TV Productions.
The book will publish on 10th August (£20) ahead of the TV series, due to air on BBC2 this Autumn, around the time "The Great British Bake Off" will run on Channel 4.
