Amazon founder and chief executive Jeff Bezos [pictured] has been ranked seventh in the Guardian's list of the Top 100 figures in the media for 2013.

The news site said: "Amazon's tax arrangements, like those of Apple and Google, have come under fire in the past year. But the online retailer powers on regardless, disrupting traditional media and entertainment sectors."

Also on the annual ranking this year is Pearson c.e.o. John Fallon, ranked 23rd, and Penguin Random House chairman Gail Rebuck, placed at number 77, while TV chef and bestselling author Jamie Oliver makes an appearance at number 80.

The Guardian's listing of the most influential media figures is topped by "You", the individual, in a move intended "to reflect the extent to which the individual has been empowered in the online age". At number two is Larry Page, Google chief executive. Dick Costolo, chief executive of Twitter makes fourth place, Facebook's c.o.o. Sheryl Sandberg fifth and Tim Cook of Apple sixth.

Culture secretary Maria Miller is placed at number 52.

Also making the list are Mumsnet chief executive Justine Roberts (83) and Tumblr chief executive David Karp (86).
