Ben Horslen new Puffin editorial director
03.12.12 | Katie Allen
Ben Horslen has been appointed as editorial director of Puffin Fiction.
Horslen is currently senior editor at Random House Children's Publishers, where he has worked with authors including Jacqueline Wilson, Simon Mayo and Bear Grylls.
Francesca Dow, Penguin Children’s m.d. said: "I am excited that Ben is joining Puffin. He brings to the list his own distinct taste, his great experience of working with high-profile authors as well as spotting new talent, and his personal love of theatre—all of which will add to the rich mix of our Penguin Children's division, as we develop new ways of working with talented storytellers."
Horslen added: "I’m thrilled to be joining Penguin Children’s at such an exciting time for the company. The blockbuster sales speak for themselves, of course, but just as exciting is the team’s obvious hunger to explore and create new ways of storytelling, and I can’t wait to be a part of that."
Horslen, who has previously worked at Egmont and Hothouse Fiction, will join Puffin at the start of March 2013 and will report to Puffin publishing director Amanda Punter.
