BBC Books has acquired world rights to the tie-in to a new forthcoming series of "The Great British Bake-Off".
The Great British Bake Off: How to Bake the Perfect Victoria Sponge and Other Baking Secrets was acquired by Muna Reyel from Claire Potter at Metrostar on behalf of Love Productions.
The title will be published in August to accompany the eight-part BBC2 series. Reyel said: "BBC Books is thrilled to be working with Love Productions on the tie-in book to this fantastic series. The country really took the 'Great British Bake Off' to its heart last year and we look forward to creating a beautiful, practical and long-lasting book that will get everyone baking at home."
The title, written by Linda Collister, will include over 120 recipes, with each chapter tackling a different baking skill. Advice from experts Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood will be featured throughout the book, as well as contestants' recipes.
Purchasers of the book will receive an exclusive free digital booklet of the finalists' recipes at the end of the series, which they can access via a code in the book which can be entered on a bespoke minisite. They will then be sent a link which will let them download the document.
