Baker & Taylor appoints Walden as buying director

Baker & Taylor has appointed Sarah Walden to the role of buying director.
Walden succeeds Diane White in the role following White's decision to become creative director after 25 years in the buying director's role.
Walden will lead the company's buying team in the building of ranges for all its many retail channels, together with the development of the company's buying and product strategies. She is expected to take up the role on 25th February.
UK managing director Gareth Powell said: "The appointment of Sarah Walden demonstrates our confidence and commitment to the future and the model we apply to making bookselling easier and better for retailers and publishers.
"Sarah brings skills of the highest calibre to help us maximise on the opportunities we see ahead for retail book sales in our market places."
On White's new role, he said: "I am also delighted to have Diane’s ongoing support in her new role that will enable her to focus on bringing to table exclusive books and stationery lines that complement our retailers' offerings."
