Avon acquires three from Authonomy author
07.06.11 | Charlotte Williams
Avon has acquired three novels by Authonomy workshop author Laurence O'Bryan.
Editorial director Claire Bord bought world all languages rights to the three books directly from the author, who attended the crime and thriller workshop held by HarperCollins last autumn, sending his conspiracy thriller The Istanbul Puzzle to Avon shortly after.
Avon will publish the thriller in b-format paperback and e-book in January 2012. The second novel in the series, The Jerusalem Puzzle, will be published in January 2013.
Bord said: "Laurence has written a page-turning exciting conspiracy thriller set against the backdrop of Istanbul, a city steeped in history and mystery. He also has the most remarkable blog detailing his research for the book, including two trailers which had me hooked!
"Laurence completely understands the importance of having an online audience and his Twitter page, which currently has over 7,000 followers, is testament to that."
Authonomy is an online writing community, created by HarperCollins.
