Two 'author stages' will be erected at BookExpo America (BEA). All authors at the event will be identified as Featured Event Authors, or Authors in Attendance. In categorising the involved authors organisers said they wanted to acknowledge, "the distinguished role that authors play in providing their talent, fame, and knowledge to entertain and educate everyone who attends".
"The new author stages will be designed to attract attention,” said Lance Fensterman, vice president and show manager for BEA. "The new platform will be a terrific way for our audience to meet and get close to more authors and for the authors themselves to influence the influencers who sway book buying habits.”
Two or three authors will be interviewed on the stage at a time in thematic talks. "These stages will provide access, not just to the authors themselves, but to the authors’ ideas and thoughts," said Fensterman. "This is a concept which not only fits with our continuing redesign of BEA, but is also a natural way to provide further expression for the rich pool of talent that attends our show."
The schedules for the author stages are yet to be announced. The event will take place from 28th to 31st May.
