Argosy sales manager Ronan Richmond has been awarded The Elements trophy for the Bookseller of the Year Award.
Richmond, who has worked at the Irish independent book wholesaler Argosy for many years, was described as a “passionate” and “instinctive” bookseller as he was crowned the best of 2013 at a dinner dance event in Fallon & Byrne on Friday (19th April).
Ivan O’Brien, managing director of The O’Brien Press, said: “Ronan is a real book person in a pivotal position and ensures that every book, however specialist and quirky, has a real chance to find its audience. He takes this responsibility seriously, but always in good humour.”
The Elements, a bronze sculpture trophy, was first awarded to The Bookseller of the Year to mark the 20th anniversary of The O’Brien Press in 1995. As well as the trophy, the winner also receives a framed commemorative certificate and a gift voucher.
