Illustrated publisher Anova Books has won a "fiercely fought auction" for the rights to the official companion book to "Britain From Above", a seven-part BBC series to be shown this summer.
The book will feature photography and satellite images from the programmes as well as computer simulations which chart Britain's natural history, archaeology, industry and transport systems.
Polly Powell, Anova m.d., said: "I believe that the size and independence of our company is increasingly attractive to authors and organisations who don’t want their big books as one amongst many."
World rights were secured through Julian Alexander from LAW. The book will be published by imprint Pavilion in September.
