Andy Adamson takes on books at Borders
09.11.09 | Philip Jones
Andy Adamson, Borders merchandise and supply chain manager, will take on responsibility for buying and merchandising books once head of books Michael Jones goes on maternity leave at the end of November.
Ruth Atkins, senior buyer of fiction and kids, John Packard, senior buyer for non-fiction, and Richard Humphreys, senior books merchandiser, will each report to Adamson. He will keep responsibility for the multimedia business and management of book returns.
Meanwhile, Jane Mahony, senior buyer for sidelines (its non-book product), has left the business for personal reasons. Simon Wilson, who was previously interim manager for impulse, has been appointed head of impulse, concessions and supply chain. He will also take responsibility for Adamson's current supply chain responsibilities with third parties.

another shake up huh? who is manning the desk this week?
I can understand this decision. It's not like Borders have dozens of highly experienced people about to lose their jobs, already oin the payroll, that could do a head office role instead of becoming unemployed now, is it? Much better to pile even more work onto an already overworked poor soul.
Another example of useful information in this daily email. Kudos! And thanks,
