Independent publisher And Other Stories has teamed up with Consortium Distribution to launch a list in the US for the first time.
And Other Stories started up in the UK two years ago, and its books include Deborah Levy's Man Booker Prize-shortlisted Swimming Home.
From autumn 2013, Consortium will distribute its titles in the US.
And Other Stories has also established a New York desk, hiring Sarah Russo of Sarah Russo Public Relations to become its North American director of publicity. Russo has previously worked at Knopf, Doubleday and OUP.
Rosamund Hutchinson will work as UK and Ireland director of publicity for the publisher.
Stefan Tobler, founder and publisher of And Other Stories, said: "I'm absolutely thrilled Sarah Russo and Rosamund Hutchison have joined our team. They're experienced publicists and sensitive readers. Equally I'm thrilled that our books are going to be available to the North American trade."
And Other Stories is a Community Interest Company which operates for profit but has goals to provide a cultural benefit. The publisher supports reading groups, libraries and booksellers, and is supported by more than 1,000 advance subscribers for its titles.
