Amazon sells out of both Kindles days after launch
01.01.70 | Catherine Neilan
Amazon.co.uk has sold out of both of its new models of the Kindle e-book reader, just days after it was announced.
In a note on the device's product page, Amazon said: "Due to strong customer demand, Kindle is temporarily sold out." Any orders placed today [2nd August] are expected to dispatch on or before September 4".
The internet retailer revealed on Thursday that it was launching a dedicated co.uk Kindle store, with more than 400,000 titles available. It is selling two devices; the 3G model is priced £149 and the wi-fi model is priced £149. The retailer has promised its e-book prices will be the lowest among any e-book retailer.
