Amazon has sold "millions" of its new Kindle reader in the holiday season, beating sales figures for all of 2009.
The notoriously mysterious e-tailer has announced that "in the first 73 days of this holiday quarter, we've already sold millions of our all-new Kindles".
Engadget surmises that this means Amazon has sold at least two million of the device, plus more Kindle products overall takng into consideration sales of the Kindle DX and Kindle 2, which was sold for $89.99 as one of Amazon's lightning deals.
The e-tailer's Department of Creative Statistics noted that these "millions" also exceed its entire Kindle sales for 2009.
