Amazon.com has extended its self-publishing platform for e-books to authors and publishers around the world.
The Digital Text Platform allows authors and publishers to release books in English, French and German through the Kindle store. Previously, this service was only available in the United States.
Authors and publishers receive 35% of the list price from Amazon as royalties.
Russ Grandinetti, vice president of Kindle Content, said: "We are excited to make the self-service Kindle Digital Text Platform available to authors and publishers around the world. Now any content owner can offer English, German or French-language books to the fast-growing audience of Kindle owners around the globe."
