Amazon.co.uk has dropped the price of Dan Brown's The Lost Symbol to £4.99, matching the cost of the title on The Book Depository and a penny less than the Asda price of £5.
The book, which was published today (15th) has a recommended retail price of £18.99. However the long awaited title has sparked heavy discounting with Asda, Amazon and The Book Depostory all selling the title with over 70% off the r.r.p. Amazon.co.uk was previously offering the title at half price.
Sainsbury's and Morrisons are offering the book for between £8 and £9, with Tesco selling it at £7.
W H Smith is now offering the book at £5.99, though only for those spending £15 on books or stationery. Waterstone's is continuing to sell the book at half-price £9.49.
