Literary scout Louise Allen-Jones is branching into the world of children's books, with the launch of a children’s scouting division.
Nicolette Jones, literary and arts journalist and author of The Plimsoll Sensation has joined Allen-Jones as children’s scout, and will work alongside Naomi Tongue. Jones will continue as children’s books editor of The Sunday Times.
The company has also been appointed as UK literary scouts for Arena Verlag in Germany.
Arena publishes children’s and young adult books, both fiction and non-fiction. The list includes authors Isabel Abedi, Neil Gaiman, Kerstin Gier, Roderick Gordon and Brian Williams, Lisi Harrison, Charlie Higson, Mary Hoffman, Adrienne Kress and Rainer M Schroder.
Following PCM’s sale of Dutch publishers A W Bruna and Meulenhoff Boekerij to WPG and Lannoo respectively, Louise Allen-Jones will continue its long-standing relationship with AW Bruna and in addition will also scout for sister companies, Arbeiderspers and Balans. The company has also been retained as literary scout for Tiger Aspect productions.
