TBH wins eight-way auction for Aftermath
10.01.12 | Ellie Walker-Arnott
The Bodley Head has secured the rights to academic Lewis Dartnell’s new title after an eight-publisher auction.
Publishing director Stuart Williams acquired UK and Commonwealth rights, excluding Canada, to Aftermath: How to Rebuild Civilisation from Will Francis at Janklow & Nesbit. TBH will publish in spring 2014.
Aftermath asks what the human race would do if civilization were brought to its knees by a virus, nuclear winter or asteroid, providing its readers with the science survivors would need to start rebuilding life as we know it.
Williams said: “This promises to be both a fascinating thought experiment and an engrossing primer on the elegant first principles of science by an accomplished young science writer.”
The Oxford and UCL academic's illustrated children’s title My Tourist Guide to the Solar System and Beyond is published next month by DK.
