Amazon to reduce minimum spend
15.10.08 Graeme Neill
Amazon.co.uk is planning to reduce the minimum spend required for orders to qualify for free shipping from £15 to £5.
The date of implementation has yet to be confirmed but once it comes into action, 90% of items sold on the website will qualify for free delivery. "With Christmas fast approaching, it’s the perfect time to cut the free shipping threshold to £5,” said Brian McBride, Amazon’s UK country manager. He added, "This means that UK customers can get over 90% of what Amazon sells delivered for free.”
The offer covers all items sold by Amazon.co.uk, from books to electronics and jewelry.
