Lulu makes redundancies
Self-publishing site Lulu has made almost a quarter of its employees redundant, reports New Media Age.
Cristel Lee Leed, European vice president, and six other senior roles will be among the 24 staff to leave the global company. Despite the redundancies the company said it remained solid and its future is bright.

I was very surprised to hear this the other day, given the fact that with Lulu you can publish for free. With all the redundancies and people having time on their hands to write. but no money to publish, I would have thought their services would be in great demand. I was thinking of trying them myself for my next book.14 Oct 08 14:09

Maybe the words 'publish for free' indicate the problems they've met. Anyone can give something away, but it's giving it away and making money that's the clever bit.14 Oct 08 14:55
