Taschen opens London shop

Art publisher Taschen has opened a shop in London, stocking its entire range of books covering art, photography, architecture, film, lifestyle, travel, pop culture and sex.

The 653 sq ft shop is located beside the new Saatchi Gallery in the recently redeveloped Duke of York Square near the Kings Road. As well as stocking approximately 350 Taschen titles on the ground floor, there is also gallery space in the basement.

The publisher has previously operated a 600 sq ft store in Covent Garden. However, it was only a temporary shop because it was unable to refit it due to planning restrictions. There are also Taschen stores in Paris, Cologne, New York, Beverly Hills and Hollywood and the publisher plans to open further branches in Bruxelles, Berlin and Miami.
