House joins PA as international director

The Publishers Association has appointed Emma House as the new international director. She is the first woman to have a senior role in the organisation and will be taking up her position in January. House was previously at The London Book Fair for six years where she was most recently the head of international development.

House said: "I love the book industry both here and overseas and feel immensely happy to be taking this exciting next step." The PA said that they are "delighted" that House has taken the job.

Simon Juden, ceo the PA said: "She brings enormous energy and passion for the sector, and an ability to grasp complex issues quickly and comprehensively. Her appointment gives us the opportunity to refocus the role of International Director slightly, as we seek to continue the robust protection of members’ copyrights overseas and domestically, as well as explore and exploit opportunities for market development."

House will be replacing Simon Bell who left in July.
