Changes at the Independent's arts section
The Independent is replacing its Arts & Books Review with a new longer arts section this Friday, as part of its full colour relaunch, notes the Guardian. The new Arts and Books section will be a 48-page tabloid which will be stapled together on newsprint.
It will replace the existing magazine which was a separate pre-printed supplement provided in addition to the daily newspaper and feature section. The old Arts & Books section was popular with readers and "very good" according to the editor, Roger Alton, who insisted that the new one will provide "more coverage".
