Rankin and Mosse to write Quick Reads

Ian Rankin, Kate Mosse and Gervase Phinn are among the big names due to write Quick Reads for World Book Day 2009 (5th March).

The 10 £1.99 titles, all short, pacy books aimed at encouraging unpractised readers, will include seven works of fiction and three non-fiction titles, including a guide to getting your children reading and a business entrepreneurship title from the Dragons of the BBC programme "Dragons' Den".

The Quick Reads programme is now in its fourth year, with sales of the titles exceeding three-quarters of a million copies and "unprecedented" demand in 2008, said organisers.
